Scam Social Media Post Offering Bus/Ferry Pass
The Department of Transportation is advising the public of a social media scam “promoting a three-month smart pass” for the bus and ferry.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Public Transportation advises that an advertisement promoting a three-month smart pass has been circulating on various social media platforms.
“Please be aware that this is a scam, not a promotion by the Department of Public Transportation or the Government of Bermuda. The department is urging customers not to click on the link in the caption, as it may lead to personal data theft or financial fraud.
“The Bermuda Police Service has been notified regarding the post.”

So, has any official from the Department of Public Transportation or the Government of Bermuda reported to the “social media” platforms that this is a scam? Duh! Click on the post and report it as a scam. Oh, right. That is not in anyone’s job description. And no one in Government would ever be on social media during working hours.
Our egg-tossing preventative BPS patrols do not have time to deal with this. Officers are being pulled from every department to combat a potential egg-tossing crime wave.
Mercy, all those eggs and no bacon!! Lol
