Video: Flora Of Bermuda Places Third At Ascot
Flora Of Bermuda, owned by Bermuda Racing, claimed a third-place finish at Ascot in the prestigious Group One Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes in England last weekend.
Drawn in stall 20 in the 20-strong field, the three-year-old, who went off a 25-1, ran strongly on the soft ground under jockey Oisin Murphy.
Simon Scupham, founder of Bermuda Racing, described the performance as a “special day for a special filly.”
He said: “Despite being drawn 20 of 20, Flora of Bermuda came an impressive third in a bunch finish in what was the most prestigious group one champion stakes.”
“Beaten only a head and a neck in a field that contained the best of the best of European sprinters is some achievement for a filly that is still only three years old.
“The world is her oyster so fasten your seatbelts. This is just the beginning of her group one journey.”
