Traffic Notice For BBA Time Trial Road Race
The Government issued a traffic notice for the Bermuda Bicycle Association Jen and Friends Time Trial Road Race scheduled on Sunday [Oct 13].
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Bermuda Bicycle Association Jen and Friends Time Trial Road Race will occur on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, between 7:30 am and 9:00 am. The following roads will be affected:
“Race Route: The Long Course commences and concludes at the bus layby located to the West of the entrance to Government House on North Shore Road. The participants proceed East along North Shore Road, traverse around the Blue Hole Hill Roundabout, and proceed back to the finish line using the same route.
“The Short Course commences and concludes at the bus layby located to the West of the entrance to Government House on North Shore Road. The participants proceed East along North Shore Road, traverse around the Barkers Hill Roundabout, and proceed back to the finish line using the same route.
“Traffic Control: The bicycle race will commence on Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at 7:30 am and is expected to conclude by 9:00 am. All motorists are expected to use caution and to avoid collisions with race participants. The race route will be under the control of Race Marshals. Motorists must follow the instructions from the Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.
“Road Closures: There will be no roads closed to traffic while the time trial takes place.
“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Jennifer Lightbourne at 777-2477.
“In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorised to “Close off’ streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
