BEDC Announce Partnership With Prudential
The Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] announced a “new partnership with Prudential to provide Bermuda-based small business owners with a unique opportunity to address critical business challenges through Prudential’s PruBono Small Business Program.”
A spokesperson said, “Since 2015, over 1,400 Prudential employees supported close to 300 nonprofits and small businesses with over 28,000 hours of pro bono support to build social sector capacity. Employees have partnered with nonprofits and small businesses to develop solutions for challenges ranging from financial modeling, data management, operations, and technology to increase operational effectiveness, increase reach or revenue, and reduce costs.
“This partnership reflects BEDC’s ongoing commitment to expanding resources for small business stakeholders, ensuring they have the tools and support necessary to thrive in Bermuda’s evolving economic landscape. Through the PruBono Small Business Program, qualifying small businesses will have access to two exclusive programs:
- PruBono Small Business Marathon – A focused, two-day engagement where selected businesses will work with Prudential employees over eight hours to address specific business challenges. This format is ideal for those needing targeted, high-level support with fast, impactful results. The marathon will take place virtually on April 29 and May 1, 2025.
- PruBono Small Business Consulting Program – An intensive, 12-week program designed for in-depth project work, where Prudential employees will collaborate with selected businesses to develop detailed solutions for complex challenges. This program kicks off in April 2025 and culminates in late June with a comprehensive closing event.
“Applications for the PruBono Small Business Program are now open, with a submission deadline of December 13, 2024. Eligible Bermuda-based businesses must have at least $100,000 in gross revenue, two years of operational history, and a full-time employee. Accepted applicants will receive individualized support tailored to their unique needs, enabling them to strengthen their business models and set the foundation for sustainable growth.”
“We are excited to collaborate with Prudential on this initiative,” said Erica Smith, BEDC Executive Director. “The PruBono Small Business Program aligns perfectly with our mission to empower Bermuda’s entrepreneurs by providing them with innovative tools and expertise to overcome their challenges. This partnership brings significant added value to our small business community.”
