RBR To Conduct Training Exercise At Govt House
The Royal Bermuda Regiment will hold a training exercise at Government House from November 15 to 17th.
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of National Security wishes to inform the public that the Royal Bermuda Regiment [RBR] will be conducting a training exercise at the grounds of Government House on Langton Hill, Pembroke, from Friday, 15 November, to Sunday, 17 November 2024.
“The exercise will involve the use of weapons and blank ammunition, and may include pyrotechnics. Residents and visitors in the surrounding areas may hear sounds associated with these training activities.
“Please be advised that these are controlled exercises, and there is no cause for alarm.
“Ample signage will be placed around the grounds to indicate the training areas and to ensure public safety.
“The RBR kindly requests that the public respects all posted signs and avoids entering the designated training areas.”
Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks, stated: “This training is important for preparing our soldiers for real-life scenarios. We appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation during this period.”
A Government spokesperson added, “Residents are asked to refrain from contacting the police regarding these training activities unless there is an actual emergency.”
