Bermuda Rugby Team Claim Plate Trophy
The Bermuda men’s national rugby team won the Plate final in Tier One at the Rugby Americas North Sevens in Arima, Trinidad, yesterday [November 24].
Bermuda lost 14-0 to Mexico in the quarter-finals before beating Barbados 19-10 in the Plate semi-final thanks to tries by Hadleigh Tucker [2] and Rory O’Kelly-Lynch.
They then took on the Cayman Islands, coached by Jamie Barnwell, the former Bermuda coach, in the fifth-place play-off match, which was the Plate final, winning 10-5 thanks to tries from Tucker and Jahniko Francis.
