Swimmers Open Baylor Season With Victories
Connor Hupman, Noah Maranzana, and Katherine Wheddon contributed to a successful start to the 2024-25 varsity season for the Baylor School swim team, as they secured victories over Concord Christian School [CCS] and Montgomery Bell Academy [MBA] at the Baylor School Natatorium.
The Baylor men’s team dominated both opponents, defeating MBA 145-35 and CCS 146-29. They secured first-place finishes in all events against both teams, who each achieved top 10 finishes at the 2024 Tennessee State championship meet.
The Baylor women’s team also delivered a strong performance, outscoring CCS 143-25. They secured victories in all events except the 100 freestyle, where they claimed second and third place.
Wheddon achieved a third-place finish in the women’s 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.23. In the men’s 200 yard freestyle, Hupman finished third [1:48.12] and Maranzana placed fifth [2:00.71].
Maranzana also secured a sixth-place finish in the men’s 100 yard freestyle [51.80].
In the backstroke events, Wheddon placed fifth in the women’s 100 yard backstroke [1:05.04], while Hupman achieved a third-place finish in the men’s 100 yard backstroke [55.65].
