Bermuda’s Sailors Competing In Argentina
The Optimist World Championships are underway in Mar del Plata, Argentina, where strong southerly winds and large waves have created challenging conditions for the 255 young sailors competing from 51 countries, including Bermuda.
Miguel Powers is currently the leading Bermudian sailor. After four races, Powers is in 99th place overall with 141 points. Other Bermudian sailors include Nina Gotfredsen (142nd place, 181 points), Rory Savage (181st place, 219 points), Evan David (186th place, 225 points), and Noah Amaradasa (214th place, 278 points).
The Optimist World Championships continue with several races remaining.
