Bermudian cricketer Kamau Leverock has been selected by the Voyagers for the upcoming Bim10 tournament in Barbados.
Leverock is eligible for the Bim10, a domestic tournament organised by the Barbados Cricket Association, through his Bajan father.
The all-rounder will look to help the Voyagers go one better than last season when they were beaten in the final of the competition by the Settlers.
The Voyagers face the Settlers in the opening game of the tournament next Friday [December 27].
“I was drafted by the Voyagers, and I’m looking forward to going down to Barbados to play in the tournament,” Leverock told Bernews.
“It’s for Bajan citizens only, but I qualify through my father. There are a couple of other Bajan citizens playing, who don’t actually live on the island, like Aaron Jones [of the United States] and Nicholas Kirton [of Canada].”
Leverock, a former Bermuda captain, has been searching for more franchise opportunities since retiring from international duty in March.
He played for the Gujarat franchise in the Legends League Cricket [LLC] in India in October and November.
The 30-year-old was drafted by the Gujarat Giants franchise at the auction in August. He went for a price of 11 lakh [$13,000].
He has previously played franchise cricket for the Vancouver Knights in the Global T20 Canada in 2018.
