Demco Wins Christmas Window Contest
The City of Hamilton has announced the winner of the City’s 2024 Christmas Window Decorating Contest.
A spokesperson said: “24 City businesses entered the festive competition this year, which had two judging categories:
- “Best Christmas Window 2024 [selected by a panel of industry-relevant judges]
- “People’s Choice [selected by the general public through an online voting process]
“The winner for both categories was Demco Florist!
“Demco’s enchanting display brings Santa’s workshop to life, capturing the magic of the season.
“Cheerful elves are hard at work preparing toys, while stately nutcrackers stand proudly as guardians of the festive scene. Lush Christmas foliage elegantly frames the display, adding the perfect touch of holiday charm.
“Almost 1,000 members of the public cast their vote for the People’s Choice category.”
Mayor Charles Gosling, City CEO Dwayne Caines, and Town Crier Ed Christopher presented Demco Florist with their well-deserved prizes for winning the City’s 2024 Christmas Window Decorating Contest.
The spokesperson added: “While Demco was the overall winner for People’s Choice with 174 votes, Bermuda National Library wasn’t far behind as 1st Runner Up with 145 votes and Uptimum Bodied was 2nd Runner-Up with 109 votes.
“While Demco was the overall winner for Best Christmas Window 2024 with 75 points, The Island Shop was a close contender, finishing just one point behind as 1st Runner-Up with 74 points, while Bermuda National Library secured 2nd Runner-Up with 71 points.”
Mayor Charles Gosling said at a prize-giving event, “We want to extend a huge congratulations to Demco for being our overall winners.
“Demco is no stranger to these awards, having won in previous years.
“In fact, this is the third time in the past five years that they have won both categories concurrently, with a clean sweep!
“It was an exciting contest this year with some high-quality entries, and we want to thank those businesses for answering the City’s call to help create a magical holiday spectacle for our island’s residents.
“We invite members of the public to come and enjoy these eye-catching displays for themselves, which will be in place for the remainder of the Holiday season.”
The spokesperson added: “This year’s judging panel, which is newly selected each year, included Mikaela Ian Pearman, Tristan Narraway, Caterina Gosling, Alshante Foggo, and Rayven Walker.
“The prizes for each award are listed below.”

- $1,000 BELCO Gift Voucher
- $1,000 Donation to the Charity of the Winner’s Choice
- A Video Advertisement produced by the City of Hamilton
