Governor Rena Lalgie welcomed the Bermuda National Athletics Association to Government House for the Bermuda National Cross-Country Championships.

Government House posted the photos online below, and said, “Her Excellency the Governor, Ms Rena Lalgie welcomed the Bermuda National Athletics Association to Government House for their Bermuda National Cross-Country Championships. Spectators converged on the North Lawn to support 152 athletes, including 35 international runners from ages under 10 to 60 years. The 1.2 mile course was designed to challenge, while also giving runners a scenic view of North Shore from Government House grounds. Congratulations to the BNAA and all the runners that took part in the 2024 Bermuda National Cross-Country Championship.”

Governor Lalgie said: “Over the last few years, I have looked to open up the grounds of Government House – making them more accessible and doing what I can support the community through sports and recreation. These community and sporting events have included the Fat Tire Massive Mountain Biking series, Ocean View’s “Closest to the Pin” charitable golf event, and the Pacers Track Club Memorial Cross-Country Invitational.

“I am delighted that the BNAA has been able to organise another event here today and hope all the competitors and spectators have had a fantastic time.”
