Video: Bermuda U17 Denied Draw Late On

The Bermuda Under-17 national team suffered heartbreak in the Concacaf Under-17 Women’s Qualifiers after conceding late on in a 2-1 defeat to Puerto Rico today [January 31].

Bermuda, who were hunting for a third straight win, found themselves trailing in the 33rd minute when Gabriella Garnett gave the home side the lead.

Evans Welch equalised for Bermuda with a well-taken goal in the 59th minute; however, Puerto Rico grabbed the victory in the fifth minute of added time when Mía Colón scored from close range.

Puerto Rico advance to the next stage as the group winners, with Bermuda hoping to progress as the one of the two best second-place finishers from the six groups.
