Video: Outside Of Election Nomination Day
[Updating] The nomination of candidates for all 36 constituencies in the 2025 General Election will be held today [Jan 31] at the MSA school hall from 11.00am to 1.00pm.
We will provide updates and video as able, and you can view all our coverage of the 2025 General Election here. Please note that we won’t actually have all the factual confirmed information until later today, and the live stream will really just be showing people outside mingling walking in and out, so it will not be all that informative, but if you’re interested in watching the scene we are providing the video.
Update: As of now — and we have not confirmed all the candidates yet – it looks to at least 99 candidates, both the PLP and OBA have a full 36 and there are also FDM and independent candidates
Update: The FDM have confirmed they have 10 candidates, these are the 10 candidates that have previously been announced.
The three new OBA candidates announced today are Charlie Swan, Michael Swan and Sophia Cannonier, and the three new PLP candidates announced today are Lauren Hayward Bell, Andre Famous and Dawn Simmons.
We are waiting on the official list from the Parliamentary Registrar – who obviously need time to compile it correctly once Nomination Day officially closes – and once we get that we will provide the full list of candidates in each seat; it looks like we’re going to have around 100 candidates in this election.
In the meantime, if you are super enthused to see who most the candidates are candidates, our ongoing candidate list is around 95% accurate at this stage; the PLP, OBA and FDM columns are completed, while the independent column may need some additions, which we will do the moment we get the official list.
Update: It’s official…. There are 110 candidates in this election.
