Photos: 2025 General Election Nomination Day
Nomination Day for the 2025 General Election was held today [Jan 31] with over 100 candidates — representing three different political parties as well as a number of independents – making their way to MSA, where the official nomination day took place.
The PLP – which currently holds a 29 to 7 majority in the 36 seat House of Assembly, has 36 candidates, the OBA has 36 candidates, the FDM is fielding 10 candidates, there are 27 Independents running, and one person is running under the Emperial Group name.
While the parties may disagree on some policies, they do all appear to agree to dress to impress in a color coordinated fashion, with the PLP walking in as a group in their signature green, the OBA all wearing their signature red, while the island’s newest political party, the FDM, were wearing yellow.
