Sir Gary Hickinbottom Appointed As Justice
Sir Gary Hickinbottom has been appointed as a Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of Bermuda, taking up the role in March of this year.
A spokesperson said, “The Governor, Ms Rena Lalgie, has today announced the appointment of The Rt Hon Sir Gary Hickinbottom as a Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of Bermuda. Sir Gary will take up his post once Justice Bell has completed his term of office.”
Governor Lalgie said, “Sir Gary brings to the Court of Appeal a wealth of valuable knowledge and insight from his 20+ years of experience as a Circuit Judge, High Court Judge and Court of Appeal Judge both within England and Wales and in Commonwealth jurisdictions, as well as his experience as an arbitrator and assessor.”
The spokesperson said, “Sir Gary will be appointed as an Acting Justice of the Court of Appeal for the March 2025 session of the Court of Appeal of Bermuda.”
