Traffic Notice For Rum To The Beach Race

The Ministry of Public Works has issued a road traffic notice for the Goslings and Hamilton Princess Rum to the Beach Race on Sunday [Jan 12].

A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works wishes to inform motorists that the Goslings and Hamilton Princess Present Rum to the Beach Race will occur on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, between 8:30 am and 10:30 am. The following roads will be affected:

Race Routes:

“The race commences outside of the Goslings Compound on Dundonald Street. The participants proceed West along Dundonald Street and turn left onto Cedar Avenue. They continue through Burnaby Street until turning left onto Front Street. The participants proceed East to Crow Lane and continue to the roundabout at Crow Lane Park. They exit the roundabout onto The Lane and continue racing on Harbour Road until turning left onto Burnt House Hill. The participants turn right onto Middle Road and continue until turning left onto Lighthouse Road. They exit right onto South Road and turn left onto Sonesta Drive. The participants continue to the finish line at the Hamilton Princess Beach Club in Southampton.

Traffic Control:

“The race will commence on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at 8:30 am and is expected to conclude by 10:30 am. Police Officers and Race Marshals will be present to direct traffic along the route. All motorists are expected to use caution and avoid collisions with the race participants. Motorists are asked to follow the instructions given by the Police Officers and Race Marshals to assist with traffic control for this event.

Road Closures:

“There will be no road closures for this event.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the motoring public and apologises for any inconvenience that may result. Should there be any questions regarding this event, please direct queries to the attention of the race representative, Sharon Craig, at 704- 1626.

“In addition, the Bermuda police are hereby authorised to ‘Close off’ streets or portions of streets and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.”
