2025 BSSF Middle School Cross Country Results
Over 200 runners competed in the 2025 BSSF Middle School Cross Country Championships, with Warwick Academy and Saltus Grammar leading the results.
A spokesperson said, “Over 200 runners representing 12 schools battled the tough Arboretum course at the 2025 Bermuda School Sports Federation Middle School Cross Country Championships.
“Warwick Academy’s Naomi MacGuinness cruised to victory in the under 13 girls race with a time of 12.22. teammate Colette Durkin finished in second place in 13.15 while Somersfield Academy’s Evelyn Fahy claimed third place in 13.20. Saltus Grammar School claimed top honours in the team event with 47 points. BHS finished in second with 57 while Warwick Academy finished third with 62 points.
“Hasim Ming won the under 13 boys race in convincing fashion. The Whitney Institute Middle School runner broke the tape with a time of 11.58. He finished 25 seconds ahead of Saltus Grammar’s Spencer Halderman who finished in 12.23. Warwick Academy’s Sami Luber rounded out the podium three seconds later. Warwick Academy this time claimed first place in the team event with 53 points. Saltus finished equal on 53 points but finished second on a tie breaker. Somersfield Academy finished third with 94 points.
“Warwick Academy claimed first place in the over 13 girls race with Sofia Leclerc winning with a time of 13.44. BHS occupied the other podium spots with Isla Cooze finishing second in 14.09 and Avery Taylor finishing third in 14.49. Warwick won the team event with 38 points followed by BHS in second with 47 points and Saltus in third with 63 points.
“Saltus Grammar dominated the over 13 boys division with five runners finishing in the top nine. They easily claimed the team prize with 25 points. Rory Shepherd led The Saltus charge winning the race in 11:43. Teammate Adam Cenzer finished third in 12.23. Whitney Institute’s Timothy Pearman finished second in 12.10. Warwick Academy finished second in the team division with 89 points with Whitney finishing third with 92 points.”
