Andre Lambe On Victory And Future Plans
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Boxer Andre Lambe has set his sights on at least three more bouts this year as he looks to expand his collection of titles.
Lambe successfully defended his American Boxing Organisation [ABO] regional belt last weekend at The Shed in Dockyard, stopping American Jimmy Williams in just three rounds.
The middleweight contest marked the southpaw’s return to the ring after a lengthy layoff due to a hand injury.
He extended his unbeaten professional record to 12 wins, with his trademark power and precision on full display.

“My hand held up pretty well.” Lambe told Bernews. “I was throwing some hard shots, and it felt good.
“I felt him out during the first round to feel his power and see if he made the mistakes we anticipated.
“I started to capitalise on those mistakes and finished him with a multitude of knockdowns.”
Known for his eye-catching style, Lambe said he wanted to showcase a more aggressive approach after being overly cautious in some of his recent outings.
“I know I’ve the power to cause my opponents trouble,” he said. “He had a high guard, so I was trying to get inside and sneak in an uppercut. I caught him a few times.”
The 29-year-old said he planned to vacate his ABO strap, a six-round version, and target the eight-round belt, as well as another more high-profile title.
He revealed he also has a bout lined up in the United States in the not-too-distant future.
“I want at least three more fights this year,” he said, “maybe four.
“I have some other things in lined up regarding titles, including the eight-round welterweight ABO title.
“There’s also a more notable belt I’m working on. That should put me in a position to challenge some better guys.
“I should also have a fight overseas soon. Everything is set – it’s definite.”
