City Hall Lawn To Undergo Improvements

The City of Hamilton will begin improvement works on the front lawn of City Hall this week to address uneven ground conditions.

A spokesperson said, “The project will involve regrading sections of the lawn, particularly in the area where the former pool and fountains were located, to restore a level surface and improve long-term maintenance.

“To facilitate these works, no events will be permitted on the City Hall lawn or Nellie’s Walk during this period. However, bookings for the City Hall steps will remain available.

“The Parks team will carry out the regrading in phases to minimize disruption, lifting sections of the lawn, adding soil to restore the proper grade, and reinstating the existing turf. The work is scheduled to begin this week and is expected to be completed by early April.

“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding as we make these necessary improvements to enhance this iconic space.”
