Japanese Cultural Exchange In March
The Japanese Cultural Exchange will be held in March 2025, offering an array of events over multiple days.
A spokesperson said, “The Japanese Cultural Exchange event will be showcasing 80+ Bonsai grown in Bermuda by Anthony Hansen of Bonsai Garden Design. Displayed at the BSoA gallery, decorated in a Japanese theme. Each day will be a collaboration with local companies to add a Bermudian twist.

March 13th: Private Corporate Pre Show
March 14th – 5pm – 8pm: Bonsai and The Bermuda Craft Brewery
“Bermuda Craft Brewery have been busy crafting a Japanese Rice Lager exclusively available only at this event. Free tasting of this Japanese Rice Lager [other drinks will be available to purchase]. Free admission.
March 15th – 3pm – 6pm: “The Sake Samurai Experience”
“Bermuda is very lucky to have Roger Dagorn here to present his knowledge with a 5 Sake tasting paired with 5 Canapé carefully created from Rogers ingredients by Fourways Inn. A Goslings bar will be serving Japanese Whiskey and Gin as well as Bonsai inspired cocktails.
“Roger is only the 8th Sake Samurai outside of Japan, currently the wine sommelier at the famous River Cafe in New York and only 1 of 180 Master Wine Sommeliers in the world.
“Early bird tickets [first 30] at $145.00. Thereafter $175.00 per ticket, only 88 tickets in total available.
March 16th – 2pm – 5pm
“The Bermuda Bonsai Society introduces probably the most famous face in the world of Bonsai, Peter Chan. Peter will officially open the Bermuda Bonsai Society, and you can join!
“Peter will openly share his Bonsai experiences from meeting the Queen and designing a Japanese garden with Prince Charles to winning 21 consecutive gold medals at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
“Peter has over 480k subscribers to his YouTube channel, Herons Bonsai and will certainly put Bermuda on the map!
“Peter will demonstrate Bonsai techniques / talk and the first 30 Bermuda Bonsai Society members that sign up from today, they will receive a signed copy of his book, Bonsai Masterclass by Peter Chan.”
