Young Athletes Shine At Carifta Trials
Several promising Bermudian athletes delivered impressive displays at the recent Bermuda National Athletics Association Carifta Trials at the Flora Duffy Stadium.
Among the winners were Amara Samuels in the women’s under-17 100 metres [12.17sec], Amaris Munya in the women’s under-17 400 [1:00.08], Riana Robinson in the women’s under-17 1,500 [5:05.28], Ciana Smith in the women’s under-20 100 [14.70].
Also claiming victories were Carina Bortoli in the women’s under-20 1,500 [5:41.50], Surii Russell in the men’s under-17 400 [51.32], Gianluca Bortoli in the men’s under-17 1,500 [4:43.13], Roman Jones in the men’s under-20 100 [11.72], Norre Robinson in the men’s under-20 400 [55.52], and AJ Harkness in the men’s U20 1,500 [4:55.83].
The Carifta Games will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from April 19 to 21.
