Bermudian karting driver Scott Barnes is competing in the United States Pro Karting Series at the Daytona Super Grand Prix in Florida this weekend.

Barnes, who is in action in the KA100 Masters class, started his campaign with a thirteenth-place finish in the practice race.

His fastest lap time was 00:41.774sec, clocked on his fifth lap.

In heat one, Barnes completed six laps, but with three laps remaining he was forced to retire when sitting in fourth place after the kart in front of him spun out and hit his back axle.

He bounced back in heat two, though, surging through the field to secure a third-place finish, completing the 12-lap race in 8:24.375.

In heat three, Barnes finished ninth, completing his 12 laps in 8:22.871.
