Cann Wins Bronze & Sets Personal Best At CAA
Shayla Cann delivered an outstanding performance for Elon University at the CAA indoor championships, securing a bronze medal and setting a new personal best in the women’s 800m.
Cann’s contributions to the Elon team extended beyond her individual success. She played a crucial role as the anchor leg runner in both the 4x800m and 4x400m relay teams. The 4x800m team finished sixth with a time of 9:10.92, with Cann contributing a 2:14.28 split. The 4x400m team also secured a sixth-place finish, clocking a time of 3:48.08, with Cann running a 56.45 split.
Elon’s women’s track and field team finished second overall in the championships with 107.5 points, narrowly trailing champions Hampton, who finished with 110 points.
