Bermuda Institute’s Intercultural Fair On March 23
The Bermuda Institute Home & School Association’s Annual Intercultural Fair returns on March 23, celebrating global cultures with food, performances, and community spirit.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Institute Home & School Association [HSA] invites you to a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, unity, and school spirit at the Annual Intercultural Fair on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Bermuda Institute. As the HSA’s largest fundraiser of the year, this event brings together global cuisine, cultural performances, and interactive activities in a spirit of community and celebration.
“This year’s fair will showcase over 12 countries, with students, parents, churches, and community members collaborating to provide authentic ethnic food, traditional performances, and cultural displays. Highlights of the event include a spectacular Parade of Nations, engaging activities for children, face painting, and a bouncy castle.
“Attendees can enjoy a wide selection of traditional vegetarian dishes from around the world, including offerings from Portugal, Jamaica, Japan, the Philippines, Kenya, Trinidad & Tobago, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Belgium, Italy, China, and more.”
HSA President Katrina Ball expressed her excitement for this year’s event. “We are thrilled to have so many cultures represented, offering the community an opportunity to experience traditions from around the world. This event fosters unity, appreciation for diversity, and a deeper connection among students, families, and the wider public. We encourage everyone to join us and celebrate the richness of our global heritage.”
The spokesperson said, “Admission to the fair is free, with tickets available for food and activities. All proceeds will support essential campus improvements, including new lockers and playground equipment. As a registered charity under the Bermuda Institute Academy Development Association [Charity No. 552], the HSA remains committed to enhancing the school’s learning environment and fostering student success.
“Parents, students, and community members are encouraged to participate by volunteering, sharing their talents, or helping to spread the word. Parking will be available at the Southampton SDA Church, with additional parking on the top field. The Parade of Nations begins promptly at noon, and local dignitaries and special guests will be in attendance.
“For those unable to attend but wishing to support the school, donations are welcome. To arrange a monetary contribution or donated items, please email hsa@bermudainstitute.bm.
