Kenni Thompson Reflects On Promotion Glory
Kenni Thompson said she is proud of her AFC Bournemouth Women team-mates after they clinched the National League Division One South West title.
Bournemouth defeated Bristol Rovers 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium – the home of the Bournemouth men’s team – on Sunday [March 23]. The Bermuda winger did not play in the match.
Thompson’s side have won all 18 of their matches so far this season.
Last season, Bournemouth narrowly missed out on promotion to the third tier of the English pyramid, despite an impressive unbeaten record of 19 wins and three draws.
“Tears of joy this time around,” Thompson wrote on social media.
“So proud of this group. We’re league champions.”
