Shayla Cann Wins 400m & 800M At Invitational
Elon University’s women’s track and field team launched their outdoor season in spectacular style, securing a remarkable 11 event victories at the Phoenix Invitational, with Shayla Cann claiming victory in both the 400m and 800m events.
Cann’s success wasn’t limited to individual events. She also played a pivotal role in the 1600m relay, teaming up with Gabi Walker, Abby Beville, and Anna Kozlova to deliver a dominant performance. The quartet crossed the finish line in 3:58.69, a full 13 seconds ahead of their nearest rivals.
