Two ‘Executive Members’ Of BTA On ‘Leave’
The BTA Board of Directors confirmed that “two executive members of staff are currently on administrative leave” and Erin Wright is currently serving as the Acting CEO.
A BTA spokesperson said, “In response to the numerous queries received by the BTA, the Board of Directors confirms that two executive members of staff are currently on administrative leave. Erin Wright serves as the Acting CEO during this time. As this is an internal personnel matter, no further comment will be made at this time.”
I’m in the tourist industry and sent emails to BTA asking for help with promoting my business with BTA on their website and any other way they could help. The second and third email I included the CEO as a cc. I never received a reply feom anyone at the BTA including the CEO so I see this move as a positive. The first email I sent was in 2022
You should have asked for a meeting in Miami or NYC so BTA could justify meeting you to discuss promoting your business.
“No further comment at this time”. BTA is a taxpayer funded entity spending tens of millions of dollars. Clearly the Board needs to be replaced as well as the senior management. Now is the time to restructure the whole mess, or close it.
On “administrative leave”, that usually means on holiday with pay in Government. What comes next is that these two will be ‘seconded’ to another Government department. Nobody gets fired in Government. Secondment is a method of moving incompetent people from one department to another, without a demotion or paycut.
