Vote Now: BHSS Hospitality Service Awards

The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] announced the Bermuda Hospitality Service Standards [BHSS] Awards which ”recognises excellence in hospitality and service across Bermuda’s tourism sector, celebrating businesses and individuals that set the standard for hospitality excellence.”

“The Bermuda Hospitality Service Standards Awards align with the National Tourism Plan goals to raise awareness and service excellence across the island,” said Jakai Franks, Vice President of Operations at the Bermuda Tourism Authority.

“By recognising businesses and teams which go above and beyond, the awards reinforce the value of exceptional hospitality in the sector. Engaging the community to highlight these hospitality heroes is the perfect opportunity to showcase the talent and dedication that drives the tourism industry forward.”

BTA launched the inaugural BHSS Awards in 2024. The first awardees included: Hamilton Princess & Beach Club clinched the prize for best Online Reputation in Hospitality & Tourism; The Beach Boys was named the Leading Employer in Hospitality & Tourism; and Cambridge Beaches nabbed the prize for Best Customer Experience in Hospitality & Tourism

A spokesperson added, “Voting for the 2025 BHSS Awards runs from March 1 through March 18 on our website. The public is encouraged to cast their votes and celebrate the businesses that exemplify hospitality excellence.”

“The Bermuda Hospitality Service Standards Award programme is more than simply recognition—it is a movement to elevate Bermuda’s hospitality landscape,” said Davida O’Brien, Tourism Standards & Training Manager at BTA.

“Honouring those who set the bar for service excellence can inspire an industry-wide commitment to hospitality that benefits businesses, employees, and visitors alike. Celebrating service leaders helps strengthen the local community, economy, and Bermuda’s reputation as a premier destination.”

A spokesperson added, “Businesses will be recognised in three key categories:

Top Online Reputation in Hospitality & Tourism – Recognises businesses with an outstanding digital presence, including reviews on platforms such as TripAdvisor, Google, and other online channels.

Leading Employer in Hospitality & Tourism – Highlights businesses that prioritise employee satisfaction, foster a positive work environment, and actively engage with the community.

Best Customer Experience in Hospitality & Tourism – Celebrates businesses that provide exceptional service and go the extra mile to enhance guest experiences.

“Award winners are determined through a rigorous, third-party assessment process, ensuring transparency and fairness. The selection begins with nominations from the local community seeing the top three businesses per category advance.

“These finalists then undergo comprehensive evaluations, including employee satisfaction surveys, mystery shopper assessments, and online reputation analysis conducted by a local business. This thorough approach ensures that winners are chosen based on objective data, reinforcing the integrity of the Bermuda Hospitality Service Standards Awards.

“Winners will be announced in April, acknowledging their contributions to Bermuda’s tourism industry and commitment to service excellence.
