‘Zoom Around The Sound’ Set For March 22

The 2025 Zoom Around the Sound, a 7.2-mile fun event supporting the Bermuda Zoological Society, will take place on Saturday, March 22, starting and ending at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo.

A spokesperson said, “It’s time to run, walk, ride or glide around beautiful Harrington Sound for the annual 7.2 mile fun event in support of the Bermuda Zoological Society [BZS]. The 2025 Zoom Around the Sound will take place on Saturday, 22 March and will start and end at the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo [BAMZ].

“Why Zoom? Here are 5 awesome reasons to take part:

• It’s a fun event, so a great opportunity to get in your steps or meet a personal goal in preparation for other Spring walks and runs, without the pressure of a race. Plus, there’s a feel-good element to the event, knowing that every step you take the money goes towards BZS education and conservation programmes.
• After you’ve Zoomed, participants get free entry to BAMZ!
• The event kicks off with a lively Zumba warm-up with Inspired Fitness to get blood pumping before taking on the route.
• The sights are magnificent! Harrington Sound is one of Bermuda’s most magical seascapes and traveling by foot or bicycle offers the opportunity to really soak in the view. There’s always the possibility you might spot an eagle ray, longtails and keep an eye out for Trunk Island – the BZS Living Classroom.
• Last, but definitely not least, there will be treats including Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and snacks from Nature’s Valley thanks to our sponsors Butterfield & Vallis!

“This event was the brainchild of the Butterfield family over 30 years ago and has been sponsored by Butterfield & Vallis ever since with all proceeds from the event supporting BZS Education and Conservation programmes.

“Whether you’re getting in your steps, connecting with loved ones or you just want to soak up the stunning views, it will be a morning packed with fun and feel-good vibes. We’ll kick off the morning with Inspired Fitness and a Zumba warm up at 7.45 a.m. Cyclists will set off at 8:00 a.m., with runners heading out at 8:10 a.m. and walkers following at 8:20 a.m.

“The 2025 Zoom Around the Sound will take place on Saturday, 22 March. The event is $30 to enter with pre-entries taken until Friday, 21 March on RunSignUp here. Late entry is $35 and can be done the morning of the event starting at 7:30 a.m.”
