Minister Urges Unity & Safety Over Holiday
As Bermuda prepares to observe the Good Friday holiday this coming weekend, the Minister of National Security Michael Weeks is “encouraging all residents to embrace the true spirit of the season — a time of reflection, renewal, and togetherness.”
“This is a cherished time in Bermuda,” said Minister Weeks. “Good Friday holds a special place in our hearts and our culture. Whether you’re out flying your traditional Bermuda kite, playing marbles with family, or simply enjoying the company of friends and loved ones — this weekend is about celebrating life, community, and hope.”
Minister Weeks noted that while the “long weekend is a joyous occasion, it is also a time when the island must be especially mindful of safety and unity.”
“We celebrate Good Friday not only through our outdoor traditions but also by remembering its deeper meaning — the story of sacrifice, resurrection, and new beginnings,” he said. “This message of hope and peace should guide us not just in church pews but every interaction throughout the weekend.”
With many expected to be on the roads and at social gatherings, the Ministry is “urging residents to take extra care, look out for one another, and make wise choices.”
“I hope that we continue to honour this holiday in a way that reflects who we are as Bermudians — resilient, respectful, and community-minded,” Minister Weeks added. “Let us make this weekend one that uplifts, connects, and keeps us all safe.”
A Government spokesperson added, “The Ministry of National Security wishes all residents a safe, meaningful, and joyful Good Friday and Easter weekend.”

I am not sure that Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and other non-Christians would agree with the Minister.

I had one of my better post fashed off my screen this morning may be it was a little long my new computer is very sensative.
As I champion for the less fortunate amongst us while others are off to vagis to play the tables
I sarted less fortunate at least was waiting for my next weeks pay check .
Many today are not so lucky.
By the way let me do the post on’ waste ‘ the gasoline engine has too many moving parts that bothers me, all it take is for just one thing to go wrong, am sot of glad my car can not fly ..
