Trojans Crowned U15 Knockout Champions
The Somerset Trojans have been crowned Under 15 Appleby Youth League knockout champions after a penalty shootout victory over the North Village Rams. The Trojans held their nerve to win 3-0 on spot-kicks after the two sides were locked at 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
The North Village Rams took the lead in the 15th minute, capitalising on an unfortunate own goal. However, the Somerset Trojans showed resilience and battled back to level the score in the 42nd minute, setting up a tense remainder of the match as both teams pushed for a winner.
With neither side able to break the deadlock, the destination of the trophy was decided by kicks from the penalty mark. The Somerset Trojans proved clinical from the spot, converting all three of their penalties. In contrast, the North Village Rams were unable to find the net with any of their three attempts, handing the Somerset Trojans the Under 15 Appleby Youth League knockout crown in a dramatic conclusion.
