A spokesperson said, “Bermuda College continues to demonstrate the power of strategic partnerships in preparing students for the demands of a rapidly evolving global workforce.

“In a significant development for the Division of Business, Hospitality, and Technical Education, the College hosted an advanced HVAC workshop led by representatives from global manufacturing leader Mitsubishi Electric Trane USA, in collaboration with Bermuda-based distributor Efficiency Ltd.

“At the centre of the workshop was the introduction of one of Mitsubishi’s latest commercial HVAC units—an industry innovation not fully available worldwide. Mitsubishi’s generous donation of this state-of-the-art equipment to Bermuda College enables students to gain rare, hands-on experience with emerging technology that meets the highest environmental and efficiency standards.”

A spokesperson added, “Joining the workshop were Jamie Cuesta, Area Sales Manager for Mitsubishi, and Ray Alvarez, Regional Service Manager, who led the in-depth training session for students on:

  • “Latest R-454B environmentally friendly refrigerant technologies
  • “The low GWP ratings [Global Warming Potentials] delivered by these systems
  • “Safe handling practices for new system components
  • “Installation and maintenance best practices for future commercial units

“This initiative builds on a 30-year relationship between Bermuda College and Mitsubishi, that for the past eight years has been supported by local distributor, Efficiency Ltd. This ongoing collaboration has ensured consistent investment in education and workforce development.

“As the island’s central training hub for HVAC instruction, Bermuda College is equipped to offer specialised training on this next-generation system—ensuring that Bermuda’s current and future technicians remain prepared to meet evolving industry standards.
