Call For 2025 Half Marathon Derby Volunteers
The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Committee is seeking volunteers to serve as Race Marshals for the Bermuda Half Marathon Derby to help ensure a safe and successful event.
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Half Marathon Derby Committee is calling on the community to step up and support one of the island’s most iconic sporting events by volunteering as Race Marshals for the 2025 Bermuda Half Marathon Derby.
Race Director, Roger Lee stated, “As we prepare for another unforgettable Derby, we are seeking enthusiastic, dependable volunteers to serve as Race Marshals along the race route. Race Marshals play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our participants, spectators, and motorists. Their presence helps maintain a smooth and secure environment while also encouraging our runners every step of the way.”
“The Derby is a cherished tradition that unites our island in celebration of athleticism, culture, and community spirit,” said Dr. Gina Tucker, Derby Committee President. “None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteers. We are especially in need of Race Marshals—individuals who can help us manage the flow of the event and keep everyone safe. It’s a powerful way to be part of the race without running a single mile.”
The spokesperson said, “No previous experience is necessary. All Race Marshals will be provided with clear instructions, T-shirts & hats, and support from the organizing team. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and able to commit to an early morning shift on race day.
“Whether you’re a longtime supporter of the Derby or new to the excitement, volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to the community and ensure the continued success of this historic event.
