Alexander White To Step Down Effective Sept 30
[Updated] Alexander White, Bermuda’s Privacy Commissioner, has been announced as the next Privacy Commissioner for Queensland, Australia, with his resignation in Bermuda effective 30 September 2025.
A spokesperson said, “Today Alexander White, Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda, has been announced as the appointee for the role of Privacy Commissioner for Queensland, Australia.
“Commissioner White has informed His Excellency Governor Andrew Murdoch of his resignation effective 30 September 2025. He will continue to serve in his current post during the interim until that time.
“The selection of Commissioner White is not only a personal accomplishment but also a testament to the work of the team within the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda [PrivCom] and the results that PrivCom’s officers have achieved for the protection of individuals’ rights in Bermuda.”
Update 2.45pm: A Government House spokesperson said, “Mr Alexander White has informed His Excellency the Governor of his resignation, effective 30 September 2025, as Privacy Commissioner for Bermuda.
“An open and competitive recruitment process will now commence to find the next Privacy Commissioner.
“It is anticipated that the post will be advertised both locally and internationally.”
