BMA Warns Public Of Fraudulent Website
The Bermuda Monetary Authority [BMA] is warning the public of “an organisation referring to itself as the Bermuda Financial Markets Commission,” saying that “no such organisation exists in Bermuda.”
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Monetary Authority has been made aware of an organisation referring to itself as the Bermuda Financial Markets Commission and which is operating a fake website.
“The Authority advises the public that no such organisation exists in Bermuda and that the operators of this website have illegally copied the format, logo, text, information, and images from the Authority’s website and have uploaded such onto the fake website.

“The Authority has taken action to have the fake website removed and requests for the public to be vigilant in reviewing emails that may appear to come from the Authority, and which may embed possible links to the fake website. Where persons are unsure if an email is from the Authority, the safest recourse is to contact the Authority at enquiries@bma.bm.
“Additionally, the Authority maintains a warning list to inform the public about entities or persons which may pose a financial or other threat to them or Bermuda, and the Bermuda Financial Markets Commission has been added accordingly. Warning list information may be accessed via the
Authority’s website.”
