Pacers Win Eight More Medals In North Carolina
Athletes from the Bermuda Pacers Track Club won six gold medals, one silver, and one bronze at the Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational at Durham Memorial Stadium in North Carolina.
Bermudian athletes won six separate 1500-meter [1500m] events.
In the girls’ 1500m races, Naomi MacGuinness won the 11-12 division with a time of 4:58.90. Riana Robinson claimed first in the 13-14 division in 5:02.44, while Carina Bortoli won the 17-18 women’s division, finishing in 5:34.07.
For the boys’ 1500m, Elliott Davidge won the 8 & under division with a time of 5:49.40. Timothy Pearman won the 13-14 division in 4:50.35, and Gianluca Bortoli was the winner in the 15-16 division with a time of 4:30.65.
Tobiah Goodchild earned a silver medal in the 15-16 boys’ 1500m, finishing in 4:48.30.
In field events, Amaya Davis secured a bronze medal in the 13-14 girls’ long jump with a distance of 4.89 meters [16 feet 0.50 inches].
Other results for the Pacers included a fourth-place finish for Elena Bortoli in the 13-14 girls’ 1500m with a time of 5:31.57. Ronan Davidge placed seventh in the 13-14 boys’ 1500m, stopping the clock at 5:16.92.
