Bermuda Pacers Win Seven Medals In NC

Athletes with the Bermuda Pacers Track Club secured seven medals, including four gold, on the opening day of the Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational at Durham Memorial Stadium in North Carolina.

The team found significant success in the 3000-meter events. Naomi MacGuinness won the 11-12 Girls Division in 13:05.09, and Riana Robinson won the 13-14 Girls Division with a time of 11:48.10.

Gianluca Bortoli took first place in the 15-16 Boys 3000m, finishing in 10:12.06. Carina Bortoli earned another gold for the club in the 17-18 Women’s 3000m with a time of 12:48.28.

Elena Bortoli claimed a silver medal in the 13-14 Girls 3000m, clocking a time of 12:17.29. In the field events, Amaya Davis earned silver in the 13-14 Girls Triple Jump with a leap of 10.09 meters [33 feet, 1.25 inches].

Ronan Davidge added a bronze medal in the 13-14 Boys 3000m, completing the race in 11:54.16.

In preliminary sprint events, Jadon Lightbourne placed third in the 11-12 Boys 200m heats with a time of 26.64, while teammate Ajani Trott finished fifth in 26.88.

Other results from preliminaries included Raelyn Robinson, who finished 11th in the 8 & Under Girls 200m [34.85]; Giselle Reid-Rubane, 12th in the 9-10 Girls 200m [32.59]; and Zahkya Scott, 15th in the 13-14 Girls 200m [26.99].
