Ashley Couper Qualifies For Hawaii Worlds
Ashley Butterfield Couper has qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, after an impressive performance at the Ironman Lake Placid in New York on Saturday [July 20].
Couper, a multiple Bermuda Half-Marathon Derby women’s champion, finished 223rd overall, first in the women’s 45-49 age division, and 46th in the women’s field.
She completed the course [2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile run] in 11hr 00min 53sec.
Her splits were 1:13:15, 5:55:33 and 3:40:54.
The Ironman World Championship will take place on October 11.
