Video: Mosquera Sets Record At Island Games
Bermudian golfer Sienna Mosquera has set a new women’s course record at Stromness Golf Club at the Island Games in Orkney today [July 15].
Mosquera fired a three-under-par 65 in the second round of the women’s competition.
It moves her into a tie for first place in the individual leaderboard with a total score of 147 from the opening two rounds.
The previous record of one-under par had stood since 2008.
The 18-year-old, whose round included six birdies, told Bernews: “I didn’t even think about the possibility of breaking the course record – it’s so awesome.
“It was a really great day. [Winning a medal] is the goal for the individual and team events. We all had a good day today.”
