Somerset Win U-23 Knock-Out Championship
The Somerset Trojans captured the Bermuda Football Association’s under-23 knock-out championship title with a 5-2 win over FC Bascome in the final.
FC Bascome opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Ben Osset. Somerset responded in the 23rd minute with a goal from Keyni Mills, but Bascome regained the lead a minute later through Hunter Outerbridge. Michari Tear-Deleon equalized for Somerset in the 39th minute, sending the teams into halftime tied 2-2.
Somerset took control early in the second half, with Mills scoring his second goal in the 46th minute to give his team a 3-2 lead. Enrique Mendes extended the advantage in the 78th minute, and Kai Sampson added a fifth goal five minutes later to seal the victory.
Kamran McNeil was named MVP for Somerset, while Jaiyden Robinson received MVP honours for FC Bascome.
