Pan Am Juniors Day One Wrap-Up
Bermuda’s athletes competed on the opening day of the Pan American Junior Games in Asunción, Paraguay, yesterday [August 10].
In swimming, Elijah Daley finished sixth in heat three of the men’s 100 metres breaststroke in 1min 05.55sec.
He placed him seventeenth overall.
Sam Williamson, competing in heat two of the same event, finished seventh with a time of 1:07.23, placing 20th overall.
In the 200 butterfly, Daley finished heat one in 2:15.91, finishing fifth and seventeenth overall.
Daley also competed in the 200 butterfly B final, placing fifth in the B race in 2:07:46 to place thirteenth overall.
Meanwhile, archers Robin Selley and Jaydon Roberts were in action in the qualifying stages, with Roberts, competing in the men’s recurve individual division, coming sixteenth with a score of 599.
In the women’s recurve individual division, Selley finished ninth with a score of 597. They have both progressed to the knockout rounds.
The pair also competed in the mixed recurve team event, finishing seventh in the elimination stage with a combined score of 1,196.
They will compete for a bronze medal tomorrow [August 12].
In the women’s cycling time-trial, Charlotte Millington was thirteenth in 40:56:76.
