Jack Harvey Wins Bronze In Paraguay
Swimmer Jack Harvey claimed Bermuda’s first medal at the Pan American Junior Games in Asunción, Paraguay, yesterday [August 12].
Harvey won bronze in the 100 metres backstroke after finishing the A final in 54.69sec.
He advanced to the final after winning his preliminary heat in 55.74, placing him third overall in the qualifiers.
In other swimming preliminaries, Marleigh Howes competed in the women’s 100 freestyle, finishing seventh in her heat in 1:22.32, placing 27th overall.
Sam Williamson finished seventeenth overall in the men’s 200 breaststroke in 2:28.61, while Elijah Daley came eighteenth in 2:28.85.
Meanwhile, in archery, Jaydon Roberts and Robin Selley finished fourth in the mixed recurve team event.
They lost to Cuba in the bronze medal match 6-2.
Roberts also finished fourth in the men’s recurve individual event after being defeated 6-2 by Esteban Silva, of Argentina.
