Caitlyn Bobb Reflects On Silver Medal Win
Sprinter Caitlyn Bobb has reflected her silver medal win in the 400 metres final at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, yesterday [August 20].
Bobb, who revealed she felt her hamstring during the race, was narrowly beaten by Canadian Dianna Proctor.
The 22-year-old finished in 52.14sec.
“During the race, I felt something in my hamstring, so I didn’t want to risk it by keep pushing,” Bobb told Panam Sport.
“I just kind of held off. I’m not really that excited by the performance today, but I finished it in one piece, so I’m not that mad.
“If feels great [to win a medal] – I haven’t represented Bermuda in for ever, so it’s really nice to be back.
“A lot more is definitely coming.”
Bermuda have won three medals in Paraguay, with swimmer Jack Harvey winning bronze in the 100 metres backstroke and sailor Sebastian Kempe claiming silver in the men’s one-person dinghy [ILCA 7].
