Mia Fishel Makes Debut For Seattle Reign
Footballer Mia Fishel made her debut in Seattle Reign’s 2-0 win at home to Angel City in the National Women’s Soccer League on Friday [August 1].
Fishel, whose father is Bermudian, joined from Women’s Super League side Chelsea Women last month.
The 24-year-old striker came on as 81st-minute substitute.
Jess Fishlock broke the deadlock in the 66th minute and an own goal by Sofia Huerta in the 86th minute handed Seattle the win.
“I was itching to get in and help in any way I could,” Fishel said in a press conference.
“I was happy to come in when the team was loose and just try to see [the win] out.
“My debut was amazing, the team is amazing, and it’s been so easy transitioning.
“I’m fitting in really well. If you’re comfortable with the team and feel it supports and believes in you, you can take off.
“I feel like I can spread my wings and take off.”
