Fishel & Nesbeth’s Teams Meet In NWSL
The National Women’s Soccer League teams of Mia Fishel and Leilanni Nesbeth matched up against each other, with Fishel’s Seattle Reign FC squandering a three-goal lead to draw 3-3 against Nesbeth’s Chicago Stars FC at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington.
Seattle appeared to be in a dominant position after establishing a 3-0 advantage. Goals from Jess Fishlock and Jordyn Huitema gave the hosts a comfortable lead in the first half. Emeri Adames added a third goal early in the second half.
However, the visiting Stars staged a dramatic second-half comeback, scoring three unanswered goals to salvage a point from the match.
Fishel, whose father is Bermudian, was brought on as a second-half substitute for Seattle, while Leilanni Nesbeth was an unused substitute for Chicago as she continues her return from a hip injury.
The draw keeps Seattle in sixth place in the NWSL standings with 26 points, while Chicago remains in 13th place with nine points.
