Squash: Bermuda Compete Against USA
The Bermuda Women’s National Squash team was defeated by the United States in their opening team match at the XXVI Pan American Squash Championship in Brazil.
In the first match, Bermuda’s Abigail Brewer fell to Caroline Fouts of the USA in three games [11-0, 11-3, 11-1]. The match lasted 16 minutes.
Rachel Barnes was next on the court for Bermuda, facing Riya Navani. Navani secured the win for the United States, defeating Barnes in straight games [11-3, 11-2, 11-5] in a 15-minute contest.
With the USA holding an unassailable 2-0 lead, the third scheduled match between Bermuda’s Charlotte Toogood and the USA’s Laila Sedky was not played.
