Saundre Simmons Ranked In Top 20 In US
Bermuda boxer Saundre “Dash” Simmons has moved into the top 20 in the light heavyweight division in the United States.
Simmons defeated Jamaican Ian Darby by technical knockout at The Shed in Dockyard in his previous outing last month.
The 28-year-old, who is ranked seventeenth, has won all eight of his professional bouts since joining the paid ranks in December 2023.
“We finally cracked the top 20,” Simmons told Bernews. “I’d like two more fights this year – in Bermuda or the US.
“I’m content with the way things have gone so far. There are always lessons along the road to apply moving forward. “The hard work is starting to pay off.”
Born in Lancaster, Massachusetts, Simmons was raised by his Bermudian parents in Somerset before moving to Asheville, North Carolina, with his mother when he was 12.
He enjoyed a successful amateur career, placing runner-up at the USA National Boxing Championships in Louisiana and the Golden Gloves of America in Oklahoma in 2021.
