St. George’s September Newsletter Released
The Corporation of St. George’s has published its September newsletter, highlighting community traditions, municipal progress, local business achievements, and upcoming events.
A spokesperson said, “The Corporation of St. George’s has released its September newsletter, offering residents and visitors a window into the town’s latest developments, local business achievements, and ongoing celebrations of community and heritage.
“Central to the newsletter is the town’s enduring spirit of hospitality, captured in the feature “Share Our Joy.” Passengers arriving on the SeaExpress ferry are greeted by the Town Crier in full 17thcentury attire, a living link to the welcoming traditions of St. George’s over 300 years ago. The story celebrates the people behind the greeting: hoteliers preparing guest rooms, guides giving walking-tours, and the bar tendering craft over generations.
“The September edition also highlights substantial municipal progress. The sewage infrastructure project connecting St. George’s to Southside, and planning permission has been granted for the Somers Garden Wall restoration.
“Sports fans are also reminded of the hometown team’s competitive spirit. At the 2025 Cup Match, the St. George’s Cricket Club earned a draw against the defending champions, Somerset. Local businesses continue to thrive with Moongate Brewery receiving the Best of Bermuda Award. Frequency Café & Hub, owned by Rolisa Camille, has grown into a community hub and announced plans to expand its offerings and launch a “Café Conversations” podcast.
“The newsletter also features a profile of Mayor Quinell Francis, JP, whose leadership reflects her deep connection to the town and professional expertise. UNESCO World Heritage remains a focal point with the spotlight on Gates Fort, Bermuda’s second fort.
“The newsletter offers practical updates for residents: hurricane preparedness guidelines, back-toschool reminders for September 9, and the next General Council Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 25 at 6:00 PM in Towne Hall, marking the end of the summer recess.
“The full newsletter is available on the Corporation of St. George’s website.
