Rick Wright’s Triumph Defeated By Tormenta
Rick Wright’s Greenville Triumph have missed out on the USL League One play-offs after losing 4-1 at home to Tormenta FC yesterday [October 18].
The defeat ends Triumph’s six-year play-off streak.
A former Saltus Grammar School student, Wright made appearances for the Bermuda and United States national football teams.
He was appointed head coach of Greenville at the start of last season, having served as assistant coach for several years.
Wright said: “It guts me that we’re not going to get that opportunity this year, but it is what it is.
“The boys are warriors, but we came up short tonight and this season. We’re going to take a step back, strengthen this club and we’ll be back next year.
“I know the fight this club has.”
