Police & Coast Guard Conducting Search
[Updated] The Police and Coast Guard are searching for a male who was reported to have “fallen into waters just off the cliffs at Ducking Stool Park, Pembroke, and has not been seen since.”
A police spokesperson said, “Around 4:50 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, police received a report that a male had apparently fallen into waters just off the cliffs at Ducking Stool Park, Pembroke, and has not been seen since.
“Police units were immediately dispatched and the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard was contacted and attended the scene.
“Police Officers and Coast Guard personnel have so far not been able to locate the male. The search remains ongoing.”
Update: The police said, “The search for the male individual who reportedly disappeared after entering the waters just off Ducking Stool Park, Pembroke shortly before 5:00 p.m. today was called off shortly after 7:00 p.m. due to failing light and deteriorating sea conditions.
“The Bermuda Police Service And Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard, will resume efforts on the water to find the missing man tomorrow morning.”
Update Oct 4, 10.49am: A police spokesperson said, “Shortly after 7:00 a.m. today, Saturday, October 4, 2025, police were alerted to a body floating in the water off Ducking Stool Park, Pembroke.
“Police Officers along with members of the Royal Bermuda Regiment Coast Guard [RBRCG] were in the area engaged in a search of the coastline and attended the location where the body was found.
“The body was recovered and identified as that of the male who was reported missing when he did not resurface after entering water in that area, shortly before 5:00 p.m. yesterday, Friday, October 3, 2025.
“The body was subsequently transported aboard an RBRCG vessel to Albuoy’s Point. An on-call Doctor attended and certified death shortly thereafter.
“An autopsy is anticipated.
“No further information will be provided at this time.”
